Some say starting young is good. I say you could end up with a very nervous child! If she indicates that she wants a soiled diaper off she may very well be ready for the potty. But most babies that young don't understand what you want them to do and I have seen parents sit the child on a potty and make them sit there till something happens and then give praise. But the child only understands that they sat there for a really long time.Around 18 months to 2 yrs of age is actually the best time. Then instead of forcing your child to sit there you can spend one or two days potty training and will have a better chance of success.Training a ten month old will probably take several weeks or months if she isn't ready. It's easier to potty train after they give up the bottle!Life is so very short let her be a baby,at 10 months old she is learning so many new things daily,Sitting on a potty a good portion of the day will surely limit what she could be learning! What ever you are comfortable I wish you luck!

I would say yes. Chances are she's not walking 100% yet, if at all. And not only that, but she doesn't have the muscle control yet.

My girls were the easiest. My oldest daughter walked at 7 months, and was potty trained after she was 1 1/2. My second daughter walked at 10 months, and was also potty trained at the age of 1 1/2. My boys walked later, after they turned 1, and weren't fully potty trained until they were 2 1/2-3.

Right now she has plenty of other things to learn about. Wait until next year.

You have 2 choices. Either you can start training a baby during the first 4-6 months of life (do a Web search on "elimination communication"), or you can wait until she is 2. In between, you will have a lot of frustration and very little actual results.

In fact, I would say if you didn't do it already, you shouldn't bother *ever* to train her. All babies will learn to use a potty or toilet. If you let her do it herself instead of training her, the results will be faster and better.

If your 10 month old baby can walk and is able to tell you when she has to go I would go ahead and try to potty train her. I have a friend who has a little girl and she was potty trained before a year and a half. some babies are more advanced than others. if you feel its the right time do it. it's a lot more easier when they are potty trained.

do you think it is the right time, if you think it is then you should, for me when I potty trained my children, it was pretty easy, I made potty time a fun time, I would let them read books, when they used a potty chair, and when they got big enough to use the big potty, I would make a game out of it, I would flush the big potty, first to show them what it done , and then I would tell them that when they use the big potty, that they would get to flush it all by them self's, but only when they used it, and it usually worked, but every child is different, what ever you do, don't force them if they are not ready, I think it would be hard on them,
good luck.

At this age you can start introducing basics like talking to her about what's in her diaper, or letting her into the bathroom with you while you go. Maybe even put a potty in the bathroom, but she's still way too young and research has shown that forcing it, at any age, let alone too early, can actually prolong the time it takes.

i started to potty train my daughter at 17 months, as soon as she could take off her diaper and bring me a clean one i thought it was time. it only took about a month of being consistent and putting her on the potty once an hour. i think all kids a different, so if you feel your baby if ready than maybe she is.

10 months is way too soon, usually this is done between one and two years of age-the child will start to remove his diaper and be annoyed at being wet. When you see this occur then it's time to slowly and gentle introduce the child to a child training potty. When he/she gets a bit bigger you can buy one of those toilet seats that fit over the regular seats for him/her.

First wait a little longer. 2 yrs is usually when people start. Let her in the bathroom with you. Babies are famous for mocking their parents. Get her a little potty seat too.

Ive had 3 girls and i potty trained them at 12 months!!
Children are all different, they will let you know by little signs
like:
takeing off wet diaper
going to the bathroom & looking at potty
or saying pee pee
they will let you know when they are ready!!
I would wait a little bit ..Don't rush your baby to grow up to fast
mine are 16,8,6 & 4 they grow up fast enough !!!
