Just curious - I was having a conversation with some friends, and we were contemplating the order of ascention to presidency. Does anyone know the order? Who is the first Democrat in this line?

A lot, the order of succession is:

The Vice President
Speaker of the House
President pro tempore of the Senate
Secretary of State
Secretary of the Treasury
Secretary of Defense
Attorney General
Secretary of the Interior
Secretary of Agriculture
Secretary of Commerce
Secretary of Labor
Secretary of Health and Human Services
Secretary of Housing and Urban Development
Secretary of Transportation
Secretary of Energy
Secretary of Education
Secretary of Veterans Affairs
Secretary of Homeland Security (A bill is in Congress to make this position the 8th in line to be President)

Norman Mineta, the Secretary of Transportation, is the only Democrat in the Cabinet and he is resigning effective July 7, 2006. While the Secretary of Transportation is normally 14th in line to be President, 2 of the people above him, the Secretary of Commerce and the Secretary of Labor are not eligible to be President, since they were not born in the United States.

So to answer your question, 12 people would have to accidentally die or be incapacitated, before a Democrat would be President and only if it happens before July 7th.

All of them, if you mean before the next elections.

First comes Dickieboy, then Do-nothing-Denny the Suck-up-Schmo (and yeah I can call Denny anything I want to...I knew him when his local offices were right next door to this bar in Batavia, Ill...the bar's not there but his local offices still are....What a lush!! )

Get me the name of a good hit-man...take them all out!
