Well are you talking OS's or what lets say you are talking o OS's...
Well it depends on what you are involved in:
Music and Graphic Design go Apple, Apple screen all software
used on its system that's why there is less compatibility.

Internet Browse,IM,Open Business I would go Microsoft or Linux

Hacking and Illegal operations definitely go Linux you can use a throw away CD bootable OS of Linux and never use your Hard Drive.......
I like Microsoft and Apple as well as Linux... Oh you did not ask about that I hope this has been educational

Microsoft, but if you want to shy from the norm, of course get Apple.

Depends on the priority of your usage. If your needs are just for surfing, doing normal computer stuff, then Microsoft.
If you are more into media and communication stuff, Apple would be more suitable.

it depends on what you're looking for in a computer. if you want to use your computer for a graphic designing or multimedia (i.e: advertisements, computer graphic effects for either a picture or a movie, or design a product's approach) career, then get an apple. if you're want it for a more corporate career, then get a Microsoft. as for personal life, i don't know. i haven't used an apple computer for fun really.
