Pregnancy tests look for a special hormone in the urine or blood that is only there when a woman is pregnant. This hormone, human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), can also be called the pregnancy hormone.
The pregnancy hormone, hCG, is made in your body when a fertilized egg implants in the uterus. This usually happens about 6 days after conception. But studies show that the embryo doesn't implant until later in some women. The amount of hCG increases drastically with each passing day you are pregnant.
Many home pregnancy tests claim they can tell if you're pregnant on the day you expect your period. But a recent study shows that most don't give accurate results this early in pregnancy. Waiting one week after a missed period will usually give a more accurate answer.

I would say wait for at least a week or two. However, I would wait until after you have missed your period, otherwise the risk of having a false negative is very high. I asked my GYN if there was a such thing as a false positive and they say they take a positive pregnancy test as just that. They do not second guess a positive test.

EPT brand tests are accurate about 4 days b4 your period should start. Or a doctor can administer a blood test about 2 weeks after the sex took place.

It takes a few days. They are making something now so you can know in 24 hours but it usually takes 1 -2 weeks to know 100% if your pregnant.

You have to wait at least a week if you want to know for sure, because during the first week after you have sex, you can get a false possitive or negative.
