I'll admit, when I first saw the previews i was less than excited about seeing Superman Returns. But I saw it today and it wasn't bad at all. The new guy actually reminds me a lot of christopher reeves.
Anyone else see it? What did you think of the new guy playing Superman?
People that remember the 80's superman, how do you think it compares?

Brandon Routh played a great Superman and reminded me a lot of Christopher Reeves

Kevin Spacey played a better Lex Luthor than Gene Hackman.

Kate Bosworth was not a very good Lois Lane I thought Margot Kidder played her better.

all in all I thought the movie was very good. I thought Kevin played Lex much more ruthless like he is in the comic books.

I enjoyed the movie a lot. The younger superman both attracts a younger audience and leave plenty of room for sequels. Personally I don't have a problem with him, and he fits the character well. The movie overall was pretty good although some of the lines were overly cheesy. Especially ruining a romantic moment between Lois and superman by Lois saying she forgot how warm he was.... That's just an example though. Its hard to compare the two movies as each were made so far apart and the technical abilities were. They each have their charm, and i never believed anyone could replace Christopher reeves...

C.R. is alot better though this new guy looks like him a bit, but the movie sucked.
The story was choppy and get more ito detail from what the title is "Returns" yeah he does that, but please more explanation, or details behind where abouts and such.
Lois doesn't know it's supermans kid, please.
I also had though that she found out Kent was S.man
Anyhow the movie X-Men 3 wasn't much better than this.
Hopefully spiderman 3 will make up for it.

I haven't and don't plan on seeing it. It is lame if you ask me because Christopher Reeves was the REAL Superman!

I've seen it. I think the guy did a pretty good job as superman. I would have preferred the guy from Smallville to do it, but still pretty good. I think its the eighties versions equal.

why didn't they get TOM WELLING from Smallville to play Superman in the movie? He's soooo hot and would have done a much better job =]

i thought story was lame characters were boreing
i grew up with reeve movies chemistry was believable with lois
new one seemed awkward and invasive to her new relationsdhip.
action was ok, no comic relief like original, too serious i give it a 5 out of 10 he looked good, special effects good, just not any wow factor

It was horrible. The first 30 minutes was so boring and the rest of it was just special effects. No real story and just bad acting. It just another summer with crappy movies.
