For example: Homosexuality. How many times will we be accused of "hating gay people" if we say we don't approve of homosexuality? (Please note that I said homosexuality, referring to a lifestyle, NOT people. I have some friends who are openly gay) We are accussed of spreading hate and being close minded for not accepting their beliefs and lifestyles. Yet the 'victims' of this case are only doing the same. Not accepting my lifestyle and beliefs. Is that not hypocrisy? Why am I the one being singled out?

I believe it is fine for you to not aceept the lifestyle and beliefs of others, to disagree with it. If you cross the line between disagreement and bigotry that is when you have a problem. It's one thing to believe that what another person is doing is a sin and wrong, it's entirely another to act on it and believe that they shouldn't be allowed to live their chosen way. So long as you can accept that it's their choice to live how they want, if anyone has a problem with how you believe, than they are being christian-bashers just as much as people who have a problem with homosexual people's lifestyle and don't accept that it is their choice are gay-bashers.

Maybe not you, but many who call themselves conservative Christians seem to take great pleasure in the idea that while THEY are pure and righteous, the people engaging in certain lifestyles are sinners and going to hell. They project a clear sense of superiority and contempt for anyone who may not be like them. People experience this as judgemental and attacking because there is no humility in name calling and propagating hatred against those different from ourselves.

{Please don't take my use of capitolization as yelling, there's just no way to "bold" our replies.}

First off Homosexuality is a type of Sexuality, not a "lifestyle."
A lifestyle is how you dress, the type of surroundings you live in, the kind of car your drive....not WHO YOU LOVE!

Secondly, You can not approve of gays or homosexuality FOR YOURSELF all you want. But you don't have the right to deny them EQUAL RIGHTS as fellow HUMAN BEINGS and/or CITIZENS!

As a fellow human being and citizen, I completely approve of your "lifestyle" as a human being living in the manor you choose as long as it's hurts no one. I would expect the same from you.

You get accused of being closed minded when you refuse to accept that homosexuals are just as capable of love...being loved and loving another human being, as you are.
You're accused of being closedminded when you can't accept them as equals deserving of respect and acceptance, just as those who are left/right handed or have different colored eyes, have the same right.

You're accused of being closed minded when you assume all gays have a different set of beliefs than you simply because they're gay.

You are NO victim when you're lack of acceptance has tainted the political environment which ostricizes gays for who and how they love, the victim here are the gays. Don't play off that reverse victim role when you hafe no ground to stand on.

Because they are not true Christians.

If you judge and treat others badly just because they are different. Then you will be judged in heaven when you die. And would you want that sin on your soul?

A true Christian knows to treat people the way they want to be treated and to not judge.
