Excessive clearances elsewhere in the engine can also reduce oil pressure. This includes wear in the lifter bores, excessive clearances between the camshaft journals and cam bearings, and excessive end play in the cam. Of course, any cracks in the oil galleys, leaking galley plugs, or leakage between the oil pump and block will also reduce pressure.

Kinda the other way around. Under normal situations the cam bearings will wear out because of low oil pressure. Most of the time something else will wear out first. Crank bearings are more likely to fail before cam bearings. But Yes, if the cam bearings are worn out, the oil pressure will be less, but by this time your engine will probably be worn out and making noise anyway. The actual cam lobe is more susceptible to being damaged than the cam bearings.

The most common cause of low oil pressure ( short of the car making funny noises ) is what is called a "lazy" oil pump. I would start there. Cam bearings would be "noisy". Rings, would cause smoke. "Cracks" would leave puddles. If is not leaking, smoking or making some kind of noise, lazy pump is pretty good bet.

Cam bearings would not be my first suspect for low oil pressure, no.
