the rash started 5 days ago around my mouth, then covered my chin, then went along my jawline and now it is covering my cheeks. Other little areas on my face itch as well (eyebrows/forehead), but not as intense as the cheeks. Very wierd how it has migrated around my face but hasn't appeared anywhere else on my body. Cortizone cream has helped a little, but not much. I've read about PUPPP (abdomen rash late in pregancy), which this clearly isn't.......HELP.

These are some skin changes that you can expect during pregnancy.

What they are: The varied collection of skin peculiarities that crop up during pregnancy, including rashes, redness, acne, discolorations, and other delightful (not!) eruptions.

What causes them: It's those pregnancy hormones at work yet again, causing your pores to secrete excess oil, making you vulnerable to heat rash, and visiting discolorations on your face, legs, palms, and soles. They’re even responsible for a particularly unpleasant kind of skin eruption known as PUPPP (pruritic urticarial papules and plaques of pregnancy), or lesions in your stretch marks. Skin tags, or small, raised growths on the skin, are common during pregnancy, too, particularly under your arms.

What you need to know about them: Were you expecting a pregnant glow? Few expectant moms get that lucky — and many experience just about every skin problem in the book. Fortunately, whether it’s flash back to your baby days (with heat rash) or to your junior high days (with pimples and a greasy shine), just about all your skin symptoms will be a thing of the past within weeks of delivery.

Best of Luck to you! ~Bon

This is normal especially around this time the placenta should be forming which i think maybe causing this I was constantly hungry during the early weeks of pregnancy that I had to wake up during the night to eat something or my stomach would pain if i didnt.I am now at week 27 and I dont have that big appetite as before and I dont wake up for a midnight snack anymore.

When i was preg. i had a bad rash between my shoulder blades and between my breasts. i went to the dr. 3 times. (I was sure i was dying!!LOL) They didn't know what it was, they said preg. women often develop strange rashes due to hormones. all they gave me was the cortisone cream. it lasted for about 3 wks, and as sudden as it came up, it was gone. They also said, to try not to scratch it. My neighbor recommended oatmeal baths, but i never did so i don't know if it'll help. I'm itching just thinking about it. Good luck!

The doctors usually call the redness on your face a "pregnancy mask". It usually goes away once the baby is born. Consult your doctor and then get the book "What to Expect When You Are Expecting". It is a guideline of what to expect when, in your pregnancy.

It is not 100% accurate in it's timeframes and quite possibly not everything in it will pertain to you... It is not the author's fault..... No 2 pregnancies are the same. It does gove good insight as to what to expect.....when you are expecting.
