First we have plenty of salt and spices, no one wears skirts or plays bagpipes. The weather is very tempremental and only MAY-October is any good and only if your lucky. I havent seen a peat or bog in all my 36 years although i imagine they exist. After you leave the central belt of Scotland then all you get is beautiful scenery, Lochs,Mountains,Valleys and wide open spaces of nothingness basically. In the Central belt it is heavily populated with Glasgow being the busiest with 800,000 people. Scottish people dress the same, eat the same (macdonalds,BK,Pizza Hut) food, sh1t the same way and are the same as people everywhere else. The people are among the friendliest on earth and the hospitality is second to none. For the record- most people don't drink whiskey, play golf, eat haggis, run around in kilts or behave in any of the stereotypical ways that are portrayed in so many movies etc. I am very pround of my country, RABCARR5.

I visited Edinborough a few years ago, and it was beautiful. The food sucks, and the scots simply dont know what "spice" is, and all the meat is boiled, but the people are amazingly friendly, and the scenery will take your breath away.
We managed to be there during the Hogmany festival, which takes place New Year's Eve. They blocked off over a mile of the main drag through Edinborough (Prince's Street) and had this massive street festival with live music and fireworks.
New Year's Day, I participated in the Looney Dook, where you march down this long street in your swimsuit, drink shots of brandy, and take a plunge into the North Sea. Afterward, you get a hot toddy and a few slaps on the back.
It was a great trip. If you ever make it to Braemare, there is an amazing little restaraunt that makes this fantastic porridge, and serves it with heavy cream and spun honey. My god. It's to die for.
