Quite some Swiss do it, specially if doing a lot of sports or simply to prevent bad smells after sweating.
It's no sign at all of being gay - I'm sure there are many gay men not shaving there.

my fiance shaves his underarm, and if he doesn't i would ask him to! having hair, specially long hair is really smelly and awful! well, i even ask him to shave the hair around his *****!!! he is not gay! but he is a neat guy who takes care of his odor and looks!
my brother also shaves his underarm hair and he is not gay too!

Underarm hair is smelly and if it is long it gets tangled. He probably wants to have good hygene. If he is your boyfriend he is likely not gay.

errr... i don't think that kinda hair (underarm and pubic) are related to sexuality - gay or not... but rather to puberty... so trim don't shave to show that you are an adult not 6 year-old...
