Eddie murphy is better because he was in the beverly hills cop series and he has done stand up and had a succesful singing career...

Martin is funny, if you catch some of his early stand up work and any of the first few years of Martin episodes, the dude is hilarious. But you can't beat Eddie's early years in stand up and on SNL. Come on, the guy dressed up as James Brown starring in the musical Annie. Gotta give Eddie the edge.

I'd have to go with Eddie Murphy, though both seem to appear in so-so movies targeted more for the teens.
