you have to take very good care of them. all in all when i got mine. the ferret, cage, bowls, litter pan, toys, litter, food, etc. cost me about 330.00+ you have to take good care in cleaning the cage on a regular basis. and they can get sick off us too such as fever, colds, etc. if you let them wander around the room/house you need to watch out of stepping on the poor things and to ferret-proof your home for anything the ferret can swallow or get stuck in.

they are ok if you have time to play with them and clean their cage every day or two. Mine keeps pooping on the shelf we put his food on, when they aren't "supposed" to poop where they eat. Yeah right! That's annoying because its hard to get the shelf out to clean it.
