Today i realized my hearing has diminished. The lady at the checker in the super market said "Do you want a bag for that?" like 3 times and i was confused.. i couldn't understand her. Then the other lady said it 2 times and i couldn't understand it. Then right after that lady said it 2 times, she said it in spanish a few times.. and i still couldn't get it, . what i hear is like muffled and dont' make sense.. But why do they always go for "Oh this dumb guy doesn't know english... HE MUST KNOW SPANISH".. i do.. but they think i'm a non english speaker, recent immigrant from mexico.. and 2 why wuld they even say it in spanish,, how do they know that i'm even mexican.. i could be from other country.

I can't tell, but do you look like you might be Hispanic? If you are as white as I am (Northern European descent), people would probably assume that you were deaf. If you are of a darker color, such as Italian, Spanish or Hispanic, people might make other assumptions, such as you don't speak English. People make alot of assumptions based on skin color. I work at a Mexican restaurant, and when I get a tan towards the end of summer, customers start speaking to me in Spanish when they think i don't understand.
