I have a 1994 Mustang GT and am rebuilding a 460 cubic inch engine for it. Yes it will fit because the GT's come with V8s so it will drop in nicely, I am looking for some other things I can do to the car to make it faster, trying to end up around 500 HP. I also rebuilt a trans to go with it so it is a whole new drivetrain.

1 it will not just drop in the 460 big block ford is about 9in wider than a small blockv-8 its taller apx4in about 5in longer you may want too start checking your mesurementsGet the old gas axe and lincoln welder warmed up you`ll need them. And by the way Kaufman performance makes a ket to go from the sm blk to the big blk around 850$ with headers. as far as transmissions you can use what we call a big c-4 trans with big blk bell houseing

if you think a 460 will fit no problem in a '94 mustang i would beg to differ... a 460 is a big block V8, a '94 mustang V8 was a 5.0 liter (actually a 4.9 liter) small block... there are a lot of problems doing these kind of swaps... and if you are asking what else you should do to your mustang for more power you apparently don't know enough to work on one, and should probably pay some one else to work on your brute for you...

Look to see if you can buy an upgraded computer chip for it.
Make the car lighter if you can will make it faster.
Take the converter off and straight pipes. Then you will have to have someone who will inspect it for you on the side because it's a law you have to have that on now for pollution control.
The tires make a difference too. High speed racing tires,
I think they use injected Nitrate for the drag strip with the fuel injection. Be careful with that stuff.

Tuned port fuel injection.

Had it on a Trans Am, the only car that EVER was able to keep up with me was another Trans AM with the same set up.

It was the fastest car I ever drove.....

if you want more horses, then you could put in a full or 3 quarter cam and a drop crank, have your heads shaved so the valves sit closer to the pistons and get msd ignition parts, double roller timing chain,a high rise intake and install headers with duel pipes.

This biggest and least expensive increase in 0-130 performance would be rear end gear ratio (3.9 to 4.56) and tires. Doesn't sound very glamourous but there it is.

Supercharge it. It'll give you a couple hundred more horsepower depending on what kit you buy.

You can add a turbo system into it. Those add up a lot of horsepower.
