Tony, tell us what kind of software you use to edit your website!

Kudos for using the term Luddite. or however it's spelled.

Essentially what you are doing is adding a line of code to your web site that says "here is the address of the banner that I want to be shown here". You copy those words that you were given and paste them into the spot of your page that should have a banner. Paste code, get picture (because the code is actually the address of the picture that is on someone elses server).

Now I could be more specific than this - much more specific - if I knew how you were editing your web pages. Are you using software or an interface program that your ISP provides. If you need more help email me the link of the banner and the link for your page and tell me how you are editing and i will walk you through step by step.

Peace!

You have two choices

1. call the banner from your friends site rather than add it to yours
but it used HIS bandwidth for calls on pages containing his banner - for example only this url calls the logo from Yahoo UK home page, find it by putting mouse over pic then right click PROPERTIES to see URL, copy and drop into HTML

http://eur.i1.yimg.com/eur.yimg.com/i/eu/hp/yuk1.g

2. Highlight the banner and right click SAVE PICTURE AS and rename if needed saving to your PC, then UPLOAD to your WEB PAGE say to a folder /images and INSERT PICTURE where you want it, you can set the properties of a pic to display words when anyone mouse over or call a web site if pic clicked.
