Make sure you are getting your eight cups of water. If you aren't already, sip one cup every hour for the next eight hours. If you don't like drinking water, flavor it with a bit of cranberry juice or another clear juice. If you don't have a healthy diet, you will also need to take vitamins.
To temporarily stop the flaking in the meantime, rub a dab of butter or a drop of cream onto your lips.

Vitamin E oil stick, looks just like a chap stick but does wonders on any skin. Make sure your not getting a cheap kind, like lip softener w/ vit E. You want to get one where the primary ingredient is extract of pure vit E oil, the oil is the purest form over creams, lotions etc...

Try Vaseline! Or, a fantastic product called Nipple Nibblers.. Yes, it's got a very weird name, but if you can find it, it is the absolute BEST chapped lip balm you will ever buy!

chap stick? vaseline? blistex? all of these should work. Put them on when you go outside. Your lips might be chapped because of the wind or sun when you go outside. Also, they heal overnight when you put chapstick on before you go to sleep.
