I really hate that. It makes me feel like I am somehow supposed to control ALL elements of fate - and that by being a good person & working hard, it isn't enough. Now, I am "cursed" by fate, the gods, karma, God, whatever you believe.....! I find this to be such an insult. Help me think of a good comeback, please! BIG THANKS!

I'm not sure what comeback you could use. How is that even an insult? Usually when you use a comeback, it's because someone insulted you. "You're just unlucky!" doesn't seem like an insult to me. "I am a peace-loving person", my @ss! You have been abusive to me and I reported you for it. Again, I have answered your question, when you only verbally abused me. Go ahead and report me, I haven’t done anything wrong.

Luck, good or bad, is merely a reflection of stochastic behavior within the deterministic system which is life. As such it is in no way a reflection on you as a person, any more than it means you are cursed if rain makes you wet or the sun makes you hot. I am a hardworking and, I like to believe, a good person. That didn't stop a woman from hitting me with her car a couple of years ago. I spent two weeks in a hospital, three months in a wheelchair, and still use a cane to get around, more, I got no damages because the police report said it was my fault for not staying out of her way. Would you honestly say that was not unlucky? I might suggest you visit the Book of Job, those who speak only of his patience miss the point, which is that, like it or not, bad things happen to good people too.

For everything that is perceived negatively, there is a positive that will come from it! You just have to look for it. Everything happens for a reason. Even death. We all are here to learn from tragedy and all the things we think are really bad. We don't die, we just change molecular levels so death is not what we think it is either. Life has many facets to learn from and understanding that unlucky is really just a perception and not a curse then you will begin to not be bothered by such statements. Look for all the good in everything and nothing will ever be unlucky again!

One of the reasons people say that to you is very much the same as getting on here and asking that question, or even considering, let alone wanting to have a come back!

When people do that its something negative that they put out or otherwise direct towards someone else. Having a come back or even wanting one is completing a cycle!!! Hence it will continue.

Why would you be interested in continuing something negative both to yourself and in turn others? Why would you wish to place yourself on their level? Aren't you better than that?

A great "come back"....... Silence.

Well firstly grow a thicker skin, this way it doesn't bother you, secondly, look at your actions if your having bad luck all the time, maybe you are forgetful, and don't ask if you don't like the answer, but mostly I find that if you act sarcastically and say "wow that's so insightful, how did you become so smart" they may be less incline to insult you. but the main thing grow thick skin cause it only goes on. don't let them bring you down!

To quote my favourite line from Einstein, "Only two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity, and I am not sure about the former!"

So maybe, when somebody takes special care to say to you that you are unlucky, start with, "I did suspect that Einstein was a genius but I now I have no doubt!" and walk away :))

Otherwise, goodluck trying to make ignoramus feel uncomfortable....

"That remains to be seen!"

Lucky or unlucky is the momentary perception of the outcome of an event. Overtime, that may turn out to be the best thing that ever happened.

The only opinion that matters, is yours ((hugs))

You have an ego that grows with every success in your life. Those type of people around you are very much required to control that sense.
