You forgive as many times as you'd want to be forgiven, but as for remaining friends that is the question. If something that occured that is toxic to a friendship and continues it's not a postive relationship, forgive and move on life's too short to count enemies amoung friends and feel bad all the time no sense in being a sadist, so if you can't be honest, trust, and laugh with your friend it's not worth keeping the friendship,

forgiving is not the same thing as trusting. you can fogive a million times over but at some point your faith in this friend will disappear and tho you may love this friend to death and forever- it will become different
for example=
don't leave the chocolate around ladyofthehollow cause even tho she won't mean to- she will eat it.

As many times as needed, but I would also talk honestly with them in an effort to lessen the amount needed! If they are a friend - a real friend - they would do the same for you.

All depends on what she/he is doing that needs forgiveness.
But then you can always play baseball...strike one, strike two...strike three....your out.
