People have individual customs and habits that are ingrained from an early age, and don't change just because they move.
If you moved to Irian Jaya or Papua New Guinea with your girlfriend (or wife, or sister) would you expect her to go bare-breasted, just because people there do? Living among the locals, would you really want her to look like one of the oppressed women of North America who are ashamed and must cover themselves above the waist?
And you know what you'd have to wear, don't you? No? See below. Would the locals think you were terribly oppressed and conflicted if you wore your traditional pair of trousers instead?

The only reason that wearing the hijab is seen as oppression is because they are forced to do it. In Iran, before the Islamic Revolution, women were not forced to wear the hijab and many still chose to do so. It was a symbol of their commitment to their faith and of their modesty and submission before Allah.
However, once the government forced them to wear it, even women who had previously chosen to wear the veil felt that their religious freedom was violated, because the veil no longer had personal meaning for them. A symbol of their faith had been hijacked by pretenders to that faith. It was no longer a symbol of a woman's own commitment, just a symbol of dominance and oppression, as you said.
Women in democratic countries who still choose the veil are embracing it for its true meaning: commitment to faith. They are celebrating their freedom to wear the veil for their own reasons and as a personal expression. Whether we agree with that choice or not is another matter, but as you said, they are free to wear what they want to.

Its the teaching of islam.
logic an reason is:
1) It hides the beauti of girl so the stupid person cannot tease them.
where as in eurpeon dress females looks sexy which cause them into trouble...like stupid boys comes behind them ...an all that...
2) It donot brings negative thinking in man's mind.(because her body shape (figure) is hidden)
where as eurpeon dress develops negative thinking in the minds of peoples.
3) It helps the female to feel comfort that no-one can see them.
an many other reasons.

I believe the clothes are part of their heritage. They're not going to turn their backs on who they are just because they're in a new country. Are you going to dress like the the people from Holland if you visit there?

If they are in the USA and still dress like they did back in their country I wouldn't trust them for a second! If they still dress like that, they must still believe in the ways of thier home country...and doen't that make them a threat to the good old USA? Watch them closely, they MAY pose a danger to our country.
