This is because you are viewing the cosmic from one single perspective. When you broaden your persepective, and use empathy to project your self into others' viewpoints, the joke becomes something more. Collaborative art, maybe. The artwork works best when the conscious elements of it strive to "do no harm", and works best of all when those elements stirve to do good.

We are all part of a cosmic joke. There is no punchline because it is all a game. We are all unique and by the time we figure it out it is all over and too late. Take advice from people who have lived it.
