I read just about anything other than westerns and sci-fi. My favorites are medical mysteries and murder mysteries. I read because I truly enjoy it. I like medical mysteries because I am an R.N. I like murder mysteries because I am fascinated by the criminal mind.

I mainly read Mystery/Thrillers because i love trying to find out who did it and most of the time the books in teh police's point of view so you have all the clues.
I also read a lil Sci-Fi but its only James Patterson's books about the kids with wings, I read them because I like how he writes them and the whole idea.
I read Romance/Mysterys just for light reads and its more mystery than romance so I am okay with it.
Thats about it but I read a lot, I also enjoy reading medical mysterys because I hope to go into a medical profession. I have also read a few history type books about the Marines in different wars because a family member suggested one and i enjoy reading about the Marines
Thats about it...I think

I read mainly historical fiction or romantic fiction, both ususally the inspirational kind because they clean up my mind and heart and help feel inspired to help change the world for the better. Like a couple others mentioned, the author Beverly Lewis is good. I loved her Hertitige of Lancaster County series. The first one is called The Shunning. I also like the author Penelope Stokes because her books are modern, but have flashbacks to the past. I adored The Blue Bottle Club. It's Christian, but not super preachy. She manages to get the Biblical message across without shoving it down people's throats.

I read many kinds of novels.
YA novels, romance novels, historical fiction, science fiction, traces of fantasy. But I don't read these three:horror, mystery, or western.
I read books because it is fun, it is enjoyable, and honestly I don't think I've ever gone longer than three or four days without being in the middle of a book.
I read YA because I think it is one of the best sources for great books. I love Sarah Dessen. I love Stephenie Meyers. I love Sonya Sones. (YA nonfiction is incredible for yielding the most interesting and most readable books in a wide variety of subjects. I'd rather read a YA nonfiction book than an adult one.)
I read science fiction and fantasy because I love Orson Scott Card. I love Tolkien. I love C.S. Lewis. And some of the Star Wars books are great.
Romance novels are just a light read. They're just fun. I especially like regency romances set in England.
Historical fiction is just enjoyable because I love history. I love Edward Rutherfurd. And Gone With The Wind is one of the best books ever.

Man tough question to answer, I love Fantasy/Young adolescent books. I know I am an adult, but hey some of those books are quite good. Richie Tankersley Cusick (The Unseen series), Twilight, I like some horror books, I love Robert McCammon. Swan Song was his best, I read it once and it terrified me, because something like the nuclear war could happen. I just love to escape into a good book to take a break from my day.

Fantasy. and Reality. Fantasy because it's fun to think that there is a different world out there and get caught up in it and enjoy the things that are going on there. Reality because our world is just as intresting.

I read fantasy because they are fairy tales for grown ups. I'd rather read about a pretend world with pretend monsters and great deeds and heros, than read about "reality".
I also read mystery. I love to try to see if I can figure out "who done it" before the end of the book!
