Home made Tye dyeing?

when you make your own dye with fruits how dark are the colors?
How do you set the dye? What do you soak the fabric in before dyeing?

use RIT dye
soak the fabric in water with a little baking soda in it
let it dry, set the dye by putting it in t HOT dryer before washing

The site listed below will help you... They have a color chart and what will give you the color - I don' know if it is necessarily a dye you would use for tiedye. It might not be as flexible as using regular dye for tiedye - I've never tried it, so I can't compare it to my normal process of tiedye.
