Bush would not, he hid out from Vietnam in the National Guard. I seriously doubt that any republican in power would send their kid off to a war zone, that's what deferments were all about. This is why Bush, Cheney, and others are called Chicken Hawks.

People in power start wars, but rarely want their kids to go. They bang the drums and rattle the sabers. BUT, fighting in the actual battles, and dying for our country, well that is for the poor and middle-class folks. Those that can be convinced it"s patriotic. Poor republicans, that's a different matter. They are patriotic, and yes they would!

Did you watch Fehrenhite 911? Michael Moore did ask the Republicans if they would.... they ignored him and looked at him as if he's crazy. But anyway, it's not only Bush or the Republicans who would do this.... it's been known throughout history that only the poors fight in order for the riches to prosper. So no president would send his kids to war, and no rich man with good connections will allow his son to go to war. It's the poor's job, and when they die, they make a memorial as if this will soothe his/her parents.

This goes out to Shaggy, why don't you go out and sign up for the military?! Sounds like you're a republican, so go sign up and fight for our country!!!!

Secondly, a lot of people I know that have gone to Iraq or going to Iraq are not for this war. Most of them are democrats.
And like many have stated, this is a rich mans war fought by the poor. It's always been like that, and will always be like that. They recruit those that might not have a chance to go to college or can't afford it. While others are just generally thinking they want to kill those "Sand people" to be put nicely...
There is nothing wrong with not fighting for this war though. I personally couldnt go there and kill people. But I do have respect for those that go out there and do it. Im not for the war, but I do respect the troops.

wow, did you just watch a michael moore movie?

Do you remember that scene where he asks the congressman if he is going to sign his kids up for the military, and the congressman gives him a weird look, and walks away? That was great! Right?!
Oh, btw, that congressman does not have any children.

The military is voluntary. Noone "sends their kids to fight". The adult men and women, chose to fight in Iraq. Military applications have been at an all time high since the Iraqi war. Most military personell vote republican.

Now, go send your kid to the kumbaya singing circle, and hope that keeps the terrorists at bay.

i'm a Republican, presently enlisting interior the Coast take care of, and that i could be SO PROUD to circulate to Iraq and serve the country. inspite of no rely if or no longer militia workers trust the war, they signed up and hear circulate with appreciate to do the interest that their united states has demanded of them. So perhaps I won't continually be homestead for each and all of the birthdays and holiday journeys--i'm going to be doing something helpful and hoping that my kin isn't sitting there without me making statements together with "Why won't be able to somebody else circulate and serve?" What, you're asserting in basic terms kin of Democrats are serving interior the war? What an ignorant assertion. If one among Bush's daughters needed to combat, i could wish he'd help her as any determine of a militia baby ought to do. Making them experience responsible approximately lacking holiday journeys particular isn't supportive.

Many do.

Don't be such an idiot.

It is the Democrats who want the draft. Right now, the men and women fighting for YOUR rights do so because they want to.

Just because you are a fool and a coward, don't assume that you know what real Americans think.

PS Have you ever had a thought that wasn't planted by CNN?

Probably most the fighters in Iraq are Republicans because
they are the ones willing to enlist and fight for their country.
Most Democrats hate war, are wimps, and wouldn't fight
for anybody's freedom, much less ours.

since democrats don't support the war, then it must be a bunch of patriotic republicans over there right now.
