You are very smart. It CAN invite an infection. I push my cuticles back and I leave them. I always do this before I paint my nails and they don't look weird at all. Push them back but never cut them. You don't know where their tools have been, but also, it just isn't necessary to cut your cuticles.

They will only invite an infection if they plan on having a party. Besides, how are they gonna get those invitations in the mail? You gonna stick your cuticles into a mailbox?

well it depends. pushing your cuticle back is not a risk at all, but he should have used some cuticle remover creme first, let is soak to help loosen the skin. and nipping the cuticle is only to remove that dead white skin, not the hard part that's atttached. it's easier to get an infection on the foot, but u'r more likely to get a hang nail. the implements should be cleaned, and u should be fine. DO NOT LET ANYONE WEAR U'R SHOES, SOCKS ETC.... PPL BE CARRYING ALL KINDS OF INFECTION. THAT HAPPENED TO ME

The risk of infection should be significantly less than a small cut on your finger, but if during the course of the pedicure the skin was broken, there is a chance of infection, as infections can be generated in the smallest cuts, given the right circumstances.

no if she was able to push them back then they needed clipped . if she would have pushed them back to the point you bled then she shouldn't have done them . next time tell her you just clipped them and not to do it . cuticles are there to keep bacteria away from the nail root and constant clipping can cause infection . also you can take your own pedicure tools to be used on your feet and they can't refuse you . this is a safe guard against unsanitary tools .

True...cuticles are present for a reason. Diabetics for example should never cut their cuticles.....applying cuticle lotion and pushing it back is ok.

Definitely not. Unless you have a broken skin before she did that. Otherwise it's a routine during manicures and pedicures.

no they just want your nails to grow a lil longer, and that is what they do.. don't worry, it won't invite an infection..they are just taking the excess dead skin that we all have.
