fyi heidenreich who is no longer wth the wwe, i also once saw him doing a bit with austin as the father of a kid who was supposedly a fan whom austin got a ticket from to be able to enter the arena (he was banned by mr mcmahon then i think)

His name is Dave Finlay and WAS a retired wrestler and used to be a road agent for the WWE, thats why you saw him escort Eddie out, and yes he is really Irish.
He used to wrestle as the Belfast Brawler in WCW then later on adapted the ring name Fit Finlay and to my knowledge he only held the WCW TV Title during his 4 year stint there.
Then at a WCW House Show to my knowledge he severly injured his leg after being put through a table I'm pretty sure and he pretty much called it quits after that.
But now in 2006 he's decided to lace up the boots one more time and seems to be impressing many people.
As for Heidenreich being with Austin, this kind of stuff happens all the time, you will see a character on TV doing one thing, then he'll disappear for a while and come back completely different, this happens when the creative team isn't happy with the way a characters direction is going, they will pull him off TV and send him down to OVW (the WWE's developmental territory) and he'll most probably come back with a whole new persona, just like Heidenreich.
It actually happens quite frequently, and it's just recently happened to Gunner Scott, so dont be surprised when the next time Gunner Scott appears he'll have a different character.

finlay is one of Vince's trainers. He is responsible for getting new wrestling talent ready for T.V. appearances. He also fills in for battle royales.
