I am in the military and getting ready to go to my permanent assignment in Wyoming. My residence, (and wife) is in Michigan, so I have to file in MI. Is there a way I can file and then complete the process by mail? I know about special rules, but cannot find anything on the petitioner being the one in the military. Thanks

Go to your legal office on post, they will have all the answers you need. Good luck.

I am in Michigan, If you give me a county I will look into lawyers and legal aspects of this for you. The biggest question is, are either one of you contesting the divorce and if so on what grounds. If you are both in agreement on everything as far as property division then there is no need to involve a lawyer. Need more info to help you.

Just hire an attorney in your home state and they should be able to take care of everything for you.
