Fuel injected gives way more power, and is much more reliable. With the addition of a power commander, you can electronically control your injection system across the power band and maximize your performance.
Don't even think about doing that with a carb - ain't happenin.
Cheers!

All the answers on here are correct, but don't mention 1 major advantage that Fuel Injected bikes have over carburetted ones. If you're going to ride any distance where altitude changes are drastic, the FI bike will automatically adjust itself, whereas the Carbed bike will need manual adjustment and/or rejetting. Of course if you've go the money, you can always put a spare carb in your saddle bags.

The real advantage of carbs is you can work on them yourself without having a whole lot of specialized equipment.
Injection gives better mileage, better performance, better power ... it's just a better system, when it's working properly. When it starts to act up, it can be a royal PITA, and very hard to correct.
But there is a very good reason every manufacturer (with better than stone-age technology) is going to Fuel Injection.

no doubt about fuel injection much better response no hanging of the float better idle and why would you want anything other than fuel injection. the auto industry should show you they dont make carb. autos anymore unless you buy a crate motor and build a hot rod of the 50,60 etc. era. no problems with injection unless you have a dummy for a mechianc who doesnt know what he is doing. check it though if you have any other problems accepting this check with honda yamaha harley davidson as to why the went that way the same reason all the auto industry has much much better

I'll give you a couple, you could discuss pros and cons for hours. FI's computer compensates the air - fuel mixture, which is handy when changing pipes but if you want a certain ratio for the track, you can't get it by rejetting. You can change the map with a computer but you're talking a lotta bucks. The worst thing I've run into is plugs for FI bikes are about 5 times more expensive than carb bikes.........

Buy fuel injected. Carburetors work great but it's old school. FI has been around so long it's as reliable as any carb and some of the carb's idiosyncrasies are non-existent in FI...ie....cold weather chokes and hard cranking. My '04 ride is carbed but you can bet when I replace this machine the bike I buy will have FI.

I have the fuel injected version and bought it over carburated version, due to they always start without any problems and you never need to adjust it if you drive into the mountains as you will with a carburated version, you will need to stop and make adjustments due to running rich with less air.

Fuel Injection is the more technologically advanced system. It is possible to maintain a more proper fuel air distribution... Also if you have more then one cylinder the fuel will be properly ditributed without tuning.

If you work on your own bike carb is better. I have a 1995 Harley Road Kind with a carb and have never had a fuel problem.

Carb is for grease monkies only. They like to tweak things.
If you just want to turn the key and go, FI is by far the most efficient use of the engine, easiest to maintain, etc.
Also, I heard a rumor that all new bikes by all manufacturers will be FI by 2010. Can anybody confirm?
