If CEO's pay is Obscene, What about a Famous Hollywood Actors?

The major names and faces of Hollywood get paid millions per film. Most get paid 10 times more then a Corporate CEO with NO responsibility, yet we complain ONLY about the CEO's who have tremendous responsibility!

It is nice to see there are people who can think out there! CEO's do work very hard. If they steal, they usually get caught and goto prison. (Enron was a good example.)

Actor's do not always rise and fall on thier own, they generally ALWAYS have supporting actors and actresses. They have a lot of people behind them to make it work.
Point to this question was this:
Truthfully, CEO's and Actors are not really any different. One runs a corporations of Product and Services and the other runs corporations of entertainment. Only difference I see is that no one complains about the Entertainment Business and thier outlandish earnings, but they sure do with Product and Service Industries.

For you that have your head buried in the sand that CEO's are bad and the rest is good, STOP being sheep for the media and the Liberal Left and do things for yourself! Being a sheep to everyone has to be a lonely life!

There is no such thing as obsene pay. If they are willing to pay you a high amount, it is because you are making them more than that amount.

Well, like the other person stated, an Actor is him. He can fail no one else but himself. A CEO makes a ton of money, and for the most part they tend to steal money as well. They break the laws or slip thru loopholes. And like the Enron scandel, steal peoples pensions, people that have worked long hours, and put up with a ton of bullshyt. Thats not cool.
Plus don't WE go see the movies to see these actors???

10 times... what are you stupid... come on... they are clearly EMPLOYEES... if the studios weren't making more money, they couldn't afford to pay them...and believe me, they are making 100s of times what they are paying the actors...

How many bosses pay their workers more than they make?

What the CEOs "salary" is... is MUCH different when you add in all the stock options and perks they get...

I suppose next you're going to tell me that athletes make more than the owners and the owners are going broke just by paying the athletes?

The market sets the prices... your a Republican, you know this... you also know the biggest fish on the ladder takes the first bite and the biggest bite out of the pie... and the players and actors are far from the top fish on the ladder...

for every player making a million, there is an owner making 10... there wouldn't be a movie or sports business if there was no money in it...

There is more of an accountability problem with the CEO, whose salary is determined by board members who don't actually have to pay the money. A celebrity, on the other hand, is basically just an employee of the movie company, and is unlikley to be paid more than the amount of revenue they are expected to generate.

How dare you question the salaries paid to Hollywood actors.

I would gladly pay triple the movie ticket price if I thought these giants among men, these intellectually gifted and talented celluloid gods and goddesses would be spared the heartbreak of having to deal with petty problems like their pool heater malfunctioning, or that arrogrant Mexican maid arrogantly demanding every other Friday off.

How am I supposed to know what political issues to support without Hollywood actors telling me the straight scoop? Do you seriously want me to listen to some boring radio guy in a cheap suit?

And don't denigrate me by saying that I blindly put my faith in Hollywood actors. I don't care if some of them only have a high school education, or some GED equivalent. I'm not stupid. I'm not going to believe in global warming just because Barbara Streisand tells me it's true.

I'm going to wait and see what Celine Dion has to say about it!

An actor who is highly paid has only his own Body and Personality and Talents to produce that Income. He stands or falls by himself.
A CEO only has to chose a good team and listen to their advice. It is the easiest job in the Corporate World and the most overpaid.
