Magazines have numerous pieces and a hard deadline when they simply must come together. The ads, the stories, the themes, the colors and illustrations. They have to be well-written and well-checked and fit in the available space with an active mix of illustration and income bearing advertisements, and all rights and legalities covered. The magazine editor is the big picture person who leaves details to others but has to get all the pieces in place for the production people to get it physically done and on the shelves or in the mail for the consumers.
