I just recently bought 2 new bettas, I have them in separate bowls and I have bought water conditioner so that I can use tap water for them. I feed them freeze dried bloodworms. Can anyone offer any other tips to keep Ike and Tina healthy?

Do not feed them too much. About once a day is enough. Residual food in the bowl will pollute the tank.

Keep the bowls away from direct sunlight and pay attention to their "mood". Are they swimming around happy or are they sick and they hide on the bottom.

They're pretty hardy fish and do well with water changes, so don't be afraid to clean the bowl if it gets dirty. Good luck!

Put the bowls right up next to each other. The males will poof their little beards out at each other. It is really funny. Bettas are awesome fish...have had them for years. Most good fish sites will tell you to feed them only about 3 times per week. If you over feed them it will mess up their swim bladder and they will swim upside down for the rest of their life. Change their water at LEAST once a week and don't put them in more than about a half gallon of water. You should read up on them. They are very interesting fish. Good luck!

I actually don't like to use the dried bloodworms because the dirty the water faster than the little pelets, but since you already have them, hehe use them up! Hehe bettas are fun, hehe. They can really live through anything! I had a female betta that was w/ a bunch of other fish and i got Ick really bad in my tank. She got it really bad too and I was expecting her to die any day, but day after day she lived, even though she was the sickest, she lived and all my other fish died, she's a pretty cool fish! Hehe but have fun w/ them!

i just got a Betta a few weeks ago and well it says on the box to feed it 2-3 times a week and on the food can it says 2-3 times a day and that is not right i think you should feed 4 pieces of flakes everyday or else if you give it too much it will explode, and if it eats at it fiercely it is only because it is a Chinese fighting fish don't think it is hungry!!! and don't put a mirror up to it or it will puff up and go KoKo!! seriously!

Keep the cat away from them..lol..sorry my bad..don't change there water to often only as needed cuz its too much stress on them..keep them separated like you are or get a dual tank n then they can be side by side n not kill ea other..try and keep the room comfortable for them..don't hold a mirror up to there bowl-they tend to get all puffy thinking its an enemy..
