Iuse to watch them when I lived down south but noone I knew up here watched them or Days Of Our LIves.

Santa Barbara was one of my first soap operas. I started it a few weeks before All My Children. I liked watching it because it was on right before AMC (but on a different network of course).
It was cancelled about eight or nine months after I started watching. And it was off the air at least two or three years before Sunset Beach started. (If memory serves me well).
I watched Sunset Beach as well because it didn't conflict with my other addictions (AMC, OLTL, and GH). But then they ended up cancelling it too.
I really miss not having more prime time soaps.

I heard it's creators Bridget and Jerome Dobson lost control of the show and a lot of lawsuits that followed. Also it was to expensive to produce because all the show really wanted to do was hire veteran soap stars instead of unknown actors.

I think they replaced Santa Barbara with Sunset Beach. NOt sure but I think thats why, and i used to love watching Sunset Beach!!!!!
