Why do you intend to please another person ? Obviously to please yourself ultimately, when you see that the other has been pleased by you. However, your pleasure is subsequent to the other person's pleasure, whom you have pleased.

Of course you can. People do nice things for others all the time. Quite often the recipient of the kindness is not in a position to reward you. An example is you give your bus seat to a little old lady or a woman with an infant. They are not going to be able to do anything nice for you at the time, but they will certainly appreciate your actions.

There are people who simply drift along, searching for somewhere they belong to in this world. Looking for a place to call their own, they want to know where they stand in life. Years go by, but the answers might still be unknown to them, even til their very last breath on their deathbeds. Maybe that's what this journey called life is all about.
But living life is never a waste. When we have somebody to love and something to hope for, we learn to embrace the true beauty of life. Cherish every moment of your life because once it's gone, it will never come back. Sometimes you miss it so badly that it hurts inside.

Why not? Some of the greatest joys in life come from seeing that what you have done for another has brought them pleasure.
Have you not waited in anticipation to see someone's reaction to opening a present you thoughtfully picked out for them?
Planning an exciting surprise to please someone else is sometimes the beginning of finding yourself on the receiving end of pleasant surprises.
When you make good things happen for others, good things will happen to you, which is, IMO, the source of happiness.

That's a tough one since people find pleasure in pleasing others. So it can happen that by pleasing someone else, you get pleased at the same time.

Sure. It's called people pleasing. You do everything for everybody else regardless of whether you really want to or not. You always put everybody else before yourself.
