"Dead Alive" directed by, believe it or not, the same guy who directed "King Kong" and "Lord of the Rings"- Peter Jackson.
A zoological expedition goes to SUmatra to capture and return with the legendary "Sumatran Rat Monkey", a disgusting little creature which is incredibly rabid. It makes it back to a zoo in New Zealand where Our Hero's mother is bitten and infected. She proceeds to pretty much decompose over dinner, before finally dying and turning into a zombie. Hero gets her a nurse, who she kills and turns into a zombie too. Pretty much everyone she comes in contact with she kills and zombifies. Hero keeps them sedated in the basement of the house with animal tranqilizers.
Enter Hero's worthless uncle, who decides to throw a party at the house where the Hero is keeping his zombie mother sedated. She and her zombie friends escape and kill everyone at the party, except for Hero and his new girlfriend. Hero dispatches all these new zombies with a push style lawn mower, but where's Mother? She has mutated into a 30 foot tall creature who tries to push Hero back INTO the womb!
One of the goriest, but in some places FUNNIEST zombie flick Ive ever seen. Some parts I still cant watch. Mother eating her pudding is one such scene. If you havent seen the movie, rent it, buy it its fantastic and the special effects are surprisingly good.

Yeah, the preview of Descent had me a bit anxious for those ladies ... the scariest movie I saw as a kid was called "Creepers" and of course "Hellraiser", that one had my squeamish.

I myself enjoy watching the old horror movies. They are so much gorier than nowadays. Although Saw was not too bad.

"Saw" was disgusting and gives me nightmares to this day. So were all of the "Cube" movies. You need a barf-bag to sit through those!
Oh and also "The Audition" - only saw parts of it but it is GROSS.
