Assuming you are talking about the World Series, yes they can win it, because they have a legit shot at the playoffs. Once you get to the playoffs anything can happen. The Reds are a flawed team, but so is everyone else in the NL except maybe the Mets. St. Louis IS NOT going to run away with the Central, anyone who says they are has not watched them play this year, and there are a lot of mediocre teams vying for the Wild Card.

The Reds need help in their bullpen, and another starting pitcher would be nice too, but they can't give away the farm to get it either. Bullpen help should be their #1 priority.

If you look at the Reds versus the other teams in the NL, they stack up pretty well. You can do a lot worse than Dunn, Griffey, and Kearns in your outfield. The infiled of Aurila, Encarnacion, Lopez, Freel, Hattiberg, Phillps is pretty solid, especailly because aside from Hattiberg, any one of them could play any infield position, and the Reds can change them in and out to maximize favorable matchups. The Reds can afford to carry three catchers because of this versilitilty and it allows them more options at the end of the games. The catchers of Ross, Valentin, and LaRue, again not great, but very competitive, especially if Ross stays hot.

The starting rotation of Harang, Arroyo, Milton, and Ramirez is pretty good, Mays/Claussen is brutal, but so are a lot of teams' #5's and it's not like they would have to start in the postseason.

Their bullpen, aside from Coffey, is terrible. They need help in this area. They should call the Cubs and see if they are interested in moving Howry or Eyre, who are being wasted there because the Cubs never win. They will need 2 guys to help their bullpen if they want to have a good chance, but its possible.

Anyway its been a lot more fun to watch the Reds this year than it has been in some time.

No. Absolutely not. The Reds' record is inflated and will deflate once that horrific pitching staff falls back down to earth.

They might cause the NL is such a crappy division this year. The AL Central is the dominate ones this year.

Not if they play The Tigers.

The Tigers owe them for beating us in 1940.
