David Koresh was the spiritual leader of a group that many felt were a cult, they had holed up in a compound in the Waco Texas area complete with all followers women and children included. They were known to have a stock pile cache of weapon s and the like. For what ever reason the Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms people didn't think it was in they're best interest to allow this stockpile to exist (especially within a radical cult). But to make thing worse the standoff lasted for over 40 days, which led to very much frustration within the ATF. the then United States Attorney General Janet Reno finally gave the OK for the AFT with National Guard reinforcements to press into the compound. It has been argued over the years as to who fired the first shot. In the end the entire compound burned to the ground with all in side dying, including women and children.

So there was this guy named David Koresh, who managed to convince a whole bunch of Texans that he was the next Messiah. A cult/religion was formed around this thought/belief/faith. These people are called Branch Dividians. The siege on Waco occurred because a whole bunch of these Branch Dividians bunkered themselves down with a whole bunch of firearms, and in this barricaded a whole cluster of other, generally unpleasant, things were occurring, (i.e. women were allowing their daughters to be raped by Koresh.) Naturally, this attracted some attention from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms. The Bureau went to Waco, there was a standoff, and 51 days latter 76 Davidians were dead, including 17 children, and one David Koresh.

Same as what happened, at Ruby Ridge, except one difference- in the case of the Waco incident, they wanted Texas to be independent from the USA, be it's own country.

That became the Waco siege, those contained in the siege were the branch Davidians, a religious cult led by David Koresh. there have been no hostages, notwithstanding the cult did have distinct little ones with them, to boot to which they were heavily armed and properly dug in, because they were expecting Doomsday. the first police attack became thrown back, and then the siege set in, i do not keep in mind how lengthy it lasted. i imagine the fee became that the cultists were conserving unlawful firearms, something like that... i imagine it lasted some months even, a number of the little ones were released, notwithstanding it ended with the cultists blowing themselves up, won't be able to keep in mind, i imagine about ninety or extra died contained in the explosion, including the chief.
