Nah, I'm the same way with my dad.
He just leaves the back door open (he lives out in the country and I don't carry a key for his place out of choice) and if he's got plans he goes about them, and when he gets back I'm there. Kinda feels like home then, waiting for dad to get back. But that's just me.
