Help me run Asides on Wordpress 2.0.3?

Question

Hi, im looking to add asides onto my wordpress installation. Its been upgraded and i cant change it back.Im trying to add asides now, but they just dont work.Iv also tried the Codex solution(from photomatt i believe) but its for older Wp's, not for the 2.0.3 because it just doesnt have the single line of the "date call" thats mentioned in that tutorial. Iv also tried a few plugins which didnt work out :(

Uninstall and re-install without the upgrade. and then try adding them.
