Well depends on what you are really looking for. Technically the highest one is Mt Everest. But then again, if you count which mountain is "higher" basing yourself on the distance from the center of the earth, it would be Chimborazo, in Ecuador . Or if you count the height from its base, there are some submarine ones that are much higher than Mt Everest (I'm not sure how to spell the name but its in Hawaii and its something like.Maon Kea)

there are two possible answers, the highest peak above sea level is Mount Everest, but the tallest single collumn of rock in the world is actually the largest of the Hawaiian islands I believe is the one, 1/3rd of which is buried into the ocean floor, about 60% of it is underwater, and the rest sticks out above the ocean surface but does not seem very tall.
