Actually a lot of it depends on how old you are. For the first several years after a girl gets her period, it often doesn't come regularly. There might even be 6 months or more between them. Also, stress and diet can affect your body in bad ways, including causing irregular or missed periods, so make sure you're maintaining a healthy diet and getting enough rest.

As long as they don't hurt too much and there's not excessive bleeding when they come, then it probably isn't anything serious. I wouldn't worry about it too much, but you should definitely ask your doctor about this the next time you see him/her.

I don't get my period on a regular basis, and I have seen my DR more than once to discuss it. She told me if I get my period @ least 4 times a year I am ok, not every woman is on a 28 day cycle, every one is different. Do see your Dr tho- they can make sure nothing is going on.

actually, where everyone else says no...the answer is yes. everyones body is definately not the same. as long as you have a menstrual cycle that is coming every 3 months not every month then it skips three then its two months and then you have one again next month. as long as your body stays at a regular pace such as you have one in january, march, june, and september...then it could be perfectly normal...my advice is to see your doctor...he or she may perscribe a birth control pill to help regulate your cycles so that you do have one every month. it may be hard for you to conceive a child if your menstrual cycle takes 3 months to complete.

It depends on how old you are. If you just started having periods, it isn't unusual, or certain birthcontrol pills can be taken so you don't have them as often
