I guess that's the way it has to be. I mean you can't go on and play forever or else the players would stroke out. Although I don't believe that winning on penalty kicks really means you're the better team. I dread when it goes to penalty kicks. Hopefully we won't see anymore this WC.

No. It is a terrible way to end a game. It is a lottery.

What they should do is keep playing. But, after a few minutes, take one player out of the game. Continue doing this until a goal is scored. Having fewer players on each team would open up so much space that someone is bound to score.

How else can you have someone win if they haven't scored or are tied after 90 minutes of regulation time and 30 minutes of over time.
After playing that long without a clear winner, it's hard for guys to keep running. Exhaustion and all that kick in.
Penalties, while they seem really cruel just are the only way to give us a much needed result.

that is the way has been for long time
used to be the Golden Goal as well but not any more
maybe extra 15 minutes or 2 more 15-minute extra time can be the solution, till one scores , but the players gonna die at the end. and how about the next game where they gonna find the energy from???

Yes it will force a team to score goals, even if it is from the penalty spot, to win.
