I just finished "The Prisoner of Zenda" by Anthony Hope. It's an obscure adventure novel from the 1890s about a king in danger of an assassination plot and the distant cousin / look alike who comes to his aid.
The only reason I read it is it gets mentioned several times in "The Wheel of Fortune" by Susan Howatch and when I saw a paperback copy at a recent used book sale, I decided I wanted to know what all those references were about.

I read a novel called Birdy years ago. I can't remember the author, but it was pretty good. I'm guessing it's obscure because most people I've mentioned it to have never heard of it.

The most obscure?
I'd guess "The Origins of Totalitarianism" by Hannah Arendt.
What I'm reading now is "Blood Music" by Greg Bear.

The most obscure book I've ever read is probably Nightfall by Isaac Asimov. It was absolutely amazing, but nobody I know has ever even heard of it.

Down and out in the magic Kingdom By Cory Doctorow
This book was such a fun and far out read. I highly recommend it to anyone that love or hates Disney. It is one of the strangest futures ever imagined.

I don't recall, but it was probably something I had to read for a college literature class back in the 70's.
