I think my country has a lot to be proud of, so those positive sides should be recognized and celebrated. But to blindly support it is plain dumb because it's really limiting to ignore what other nationalities have to offer. Also, if you really love your country you'll take a hard line against the stupid things about it - it's the only way to progress and play your part to make things better.

Sure, I'm Australian, and sometimes famous/high profile Australians do stupid and embarrassing things, but I love the country I live in, I enjoy the people, most of the time, and the weather. As far as I'm concerned, there's nothing to be ashamed of, yes Australia has done things that aren't necessarily great, but I believe that we either have or are making up for past transgressions.

I am proud of my nationality because I have done extensive work in geneaology and onomastics. I have traced my family history back to Sweden in the early nineteenth century. While I have never been to Sweden, I can certainly appreciate its beauty and culture. That's all I have to say about this particular topic. Have a nice day.

Very proud of my nationality, as well as my heritage.
I come from a long line of fascinating people. Maybe not to others, but definitely to my family. By understanding who my ancestors are, and what my country stands for, I have a greater sense of who I am, where I come from, and where I'm going.
