I have the extended DVD, and in the commentary Mr. Lucas makes an elusive statement the he has some plans for the future that will make Star Wars Fans very happy. There are a number of years, and books between #3 and #4 (In chronological order)
#4 being the first movie and #3 being the last. Much speculation has bounced around the net, but it only makes since. Also to add to the rumor mill....The next series have been said to contain some original cast members to all digitaly made features.

I heard that he even set provisions in his will to difficult or preclude others to purpose to do greater video clips in accordance with celebrity Wars after he die. Lucas originally planned 9 in three batches...I don't know if he is seriously going ahead with 7 8 and 9, I hope so, because as a kid the first one knocked me out, and even if I don't find them as good as I once did, I still enjoy them.
But on the other hand, Lucas is getting up in years...

There have been rumors that another trilogy will come out about life after the Empire fell. But I haven't heard Lucas' official statement about that. My guess, and hope, is no. Episodes I-III were a travesty.

There was rumors that there would be, but i dont think there will be any. It would be hard, because you have to get ALL new characters and stuff because obviously acters and actresses from the very first movie to be in this one. I mean they might but hey i doubt it.
