Yes you can. What do you call healthy food? Most people don't know what is healthy as it's only what they have heard in the media.
I have lost around 60 lbs in 6 months and I will tell you what not to eat. The first myth we have been told is that fat is bad. Sugar and carbohydrate is the big nasty. In fact reduced fat food that has had some fat removed is actually more fattening than the regular food because the removed fat in most cases is replaced with carbs! This is the main reason why you must absolutely stay away from ALL processed food with no exception. Eat fresh and natural.
The other thing you must do is keep your insulin as low as possible by getting sugar and carbs in your diet as close to zero as you can and not having ANYTHING between meals. Also having at least 5 hours between one meal and another. The last meal of the day must be no later than 9pm. Insulin is a hormone that will absolutely block fat and protein burning in your body and force it to burn sugar, that's how it works. You will NOT lose weight with your blood stream flooded with insulin.
You must have at least 8 glasses of water a day, in order for your liver and kidneys to excrete the fat from your body this is crucial.
Now, what you must stay away from and I mean, non at all. Bread, pasta, rice, pastry, sugar, potato, onion, parsnip, sweet potato, pumpkin, beetroot, carrots, peas, spreads like butter and margarine and be very careful of sauces and condiments. Fruit and milk should be taken very, very sparingly because they are fattening. Fruit is full of sugar too, only a very small amount. Avoid all processed food including diet soda it will stimulate insulin. 3 cups of black tea or coffee WITH meals a day is OK.
OK, if you are still with me, what can you eat? In a nutshell you replace the carbs you have removed with protein and green leafy vegetables. Do not mix protein only 1 per meal. This is what you can eat. Lean meat, poultry, fish, cheese, yoghurt and eggs are your permitted proteins. Cauliflower, cabbage, sprouts, broccoli, capsicum, mushroom, celery, zucchini and a small amount of tomato. You can have unlimited amounts of lettuce and cucumber but ONLY at meal times. You can use balsamic vinegar as a dressing; mustard is ok too but only made from the powder. Shop bought is full of sugar! Curry powder in cooking can be used as well. One tablespoon of olive oil is ok per day, in cooking and as a dressing.
I will GUARANTEE if you stick to this you will loose heaps of weight, fast. I know it's not easy and you need the support of your family too.
Just another couple of things I forgot. NO breakfast cereal and avoid really heavy exercise you will just burn glycogen in your muscles, not fat and it will just make you sore and tired. You need prolonged gentle exercise to burn fat like walking. You don't need to exercise at all on this diet as long as you're moving about. Last but not least read food labels and look at the ingredients. Avoid foods like the plague with more than 5 grams of carbohydrate per 100 grams.
Good Luck. Jules, Australia.

RE:
Is there a way to really lose 30lbs and inches in 6-8 weeks? I am exercising but it isn't working?
I have really been trying hard, I exercise and eat healthy but my body seems awfully resistant to losing weight and inches. What can I do? Can stress be the problem?

Choose healthy carbs and lower your bad carb intake. South Beach diet is a really good resource. I would suggest eating whole wheat bread/pitas/tortillas only for breakfast and/or lunch with tons of fruits, veggies, and lean meats. For dinner make it protein packed. Eliminate refined sugars and only ingest natural sugars like those in fruits.
Drink lots of water.
Lower your sodium intake! The best way to do that is to cook your own food. You can control the amounts that way. You don't know what they put in foods when you eat out a great deal.
Also if you are not obese, losing weight will take time. If you are only 20-30 lbs overweight, it's going to take longer than 6-8 weeks to drop the weight.

The best way I ever lost weight and got the best body of my life was by using weight machines and free weights. (along with proper warming up, stretching and cardio). You will not get bulky, in fact you will rev up your slow sounding metabolism, and in 1-2 months you should start seeing a big difference. Don't put yourself on such a short time schedule like "6-8 weeks". That is doing exercise for the wrong reason, and you will be setting yourself up to be disappointed. Consider it the first day of the rest of your life in health, and trust me- you will never have looked or felt better if you make it a habit that you enjoy for the long haul.
But yes, doing this WILL get you closer to the results you seek in 6-8 weeks.
All the best to you!

Gurl where there is a will there is a way. First of all why would you want to lose weight? Your look is something you should be proud of regardless. But if you want to lose weight just keep trying and doing what you do. The best way to lose weight is just to relax and have fun while doing it. All exercises are suppose to be fun and your body can't resist fun. If you are put under a lot of stress then that may be part of the problem. Just try to calm your nerves and relax.

There are three main ways to lose weight quickly.
1) Use only water as liquid and eliminate all other liquid drinks from your diet. You must drink as much water as possible every day. You must drink about half of your weight. If you have weight of 200 pounds then you must drink about 100 oz of water.
2) The interval between the eating is very important. If you eat once, then you must eat next after 4 hours. You must take breakfast regularly. In the night eat your food three hours before going to bed.
3) Walking is very good. You must walk as much as you can. Walk everywhere you can. Use of elevators and escalators must be reduced and instead of these you must climb stairs more often.
These are some of the fastest ways to lose weight. By just following the simple steps, you can lose your weight very quickly. You must consult your doctor if want to change your diet or exercise routine.

1. It is not possible to lose more than 2 lbs of fat per week.
2. You need to realize that as you excersize, you are gaining muscle weight - which weighs more than fat. Sooo, you can be healthier, look thinner, but weigh more.
3. For women, they do not lose weight at a constant rate, it takes place in steps. Excersize for health and whenever the weight drops, it does.
4. Make sure you eat 3 normal meals per day. You retain more weight when you don't eat - plus you lose muscle mass if you starve yourself. Don't do that.
5. Drink lots of water.

If your stuck at a weight level the only thing you can do is increase the amount of exercise you do or change your diet.If you try not to eat 4 hours before going to bed and drinking more water during eating and the rest of the day it will help . one thing though if you diet without exercise you will lose muscle more then fat and the end result will be worse of health wise
