A friend has a lab mix that is amazing.
This dog seriously understands what you say to her! I told her she couldn't have some scraps because she was getting fat (you know how you will talk to a dog just like you would a person, knowing they won't/can't understand) and that dog gave me the most disgusted look and wouldn't have anything to do with me the rest of his two day stay!
There was no mistaking that she was insulted!

I do cuz he's the smartest dog I've ever owned. He's a cocker spaniel and he was born potty trained to pee pads it was sooo cool we just moved the pads towards the door and poof done. He learned how to sit and shake in about half an hour he is like a little man he is sooo smart.. My son has a blanket on the flor that he sits on and Hunter knows that he can't go on it. He's not even a year yet

I have an Aussie Shepard that figured out how to lock my hubby out of the house. He found a puppy about 6 years ago and we let him keep her and he taught her how to do the same trick.They're both smart (alec) dogs.
And we have a new kitten who understands how doorknobs work. He jumps on a table near the door and tries to turn it with his paw when he wants out of the room.

I have a german shepherd/pointer mix puppy that learned that if i yell at him for doing something stupid, he can just go over to my husband and put his head on his knee and "daddy" will tell him its okay and start playing with him. He's just like a child playing one parent off the other. He's also a smart ***. I'll tell him to lay down on his bed and he'll lay his head on it and leave his butt out in the middle of the room.

a really smart pet is a dwarf hamster! they have different personalities.

I taught my cat how to fetch like a dog. I throw his toy into the kitchen and he chases it, and skids across the floor, and brings it back to me with it in his mouth. he will come in my bedroom at night and drop his toy on my chest, wanting me to play.

I think monkeys are the smartest pet because i have one and he does everything i do. one time i said "am a princess" and he said too. ain't that cOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL.
