Around 1950, give or take a few years, there was a comical country song with a title "I've Got Tears in My Ears While Lying on My Back in My Bed While I Cry Over You." This song was in the Ginis Record Book for years as having the longest title of any song written. Maybe it still is. Has anyone ever heard about it?

Longest Title:
The Face's / Rod Stewart's 1974 no. 12 hit "You Can Make Me Dance Sing Or Anything (Even Take The Dog For A Walk, Mend A Fuse, Fold Away The Ironing Board, Or Any Other Domestic Shortcomings)" has 115 letters (punctuation marks don't count!). The longest un-bracketed title is Meat Loaf's "Objects In The Rear View Mirror May Appear Closer Than They Are" (52 letters). It made no. 26 in May 1994.
The Freshies' 1981 release "I'm In Love With The Girl On A Certain Manchester Megastore Checkout Desk" (60 letters) peaked at number 54!

It probably still is...music artists now try to make their titles simple, short, meaningful, and to label the song. I like it that way instead of saying i want to listen to....that long song title song
