I have used a brush-on paint from Eastwood on my headers. So far I am happy with it. Comes in black or silver. 1 pint is about $25. You can find it at Eastwood.com - part # 10366Z or #10363Z. Also come in spray cans.

Rustoleum brand has just such a product. Ask at your local hardware store - Tru-value in particular carries it. It used to be called "stove blacking". Tell the clerk what you intend to use it for so he or she will be sure to sell you the right can - not all Rustoleum products will withstand high temperatures.

Any auto parts store should carry it, but I highly recommend the spray, it can get places you can't reach with the brush.
