hell yes they will. Watch the movie "Waiting". It has a documentary at the end that has previous waiters and waitresses about the things they did as well as some of the chef's they worked with. One guy said he put a knife in his crack and wiped off the sweat and gave it back to the man at the table because he complained about his steak not being done enough and his knife being dirty.......

It kinda depends on the quality of the restraunt which you would think is relative to the quality of the help but....cooks especially can get crude, with 15 yrs. of restauraunt(mostly higher class) experience, I've seen things that i will not even print here. Food gets thrown on the floor if you are arrogant & don't treat the waiter or bartender with respect.I've seen employees who make as much as $300 per night in tips (but they sure do work for their money) & the customer is a total asshole, anything & everything in the back of the restauraunt can be mixed in your food, including cleaning products, urine & feces, & rat feces. Everyone should work in a restauraunt for 2 weeks & they will see how hard it is to take care of 5-10 tables at a time & deal w/ bitches & pretentious assholes who think they are better than you are. We are all people trying to make in this world.Don't worry, this is not the norm & happens infrequently, but.....be nice to your server, don't piss off the bartender or waiter & you'll enjoy your meal. You can catch more bees w/ honey than vinegar.

do not go away a tip in case you had a foul eating adventure with the aid of something the SERVER might want to administration. Too many human beings are lower than the pretend effect that they are gonna punish the eating position by utilizing no longer tipping. THE eating position does no longer make money OFF OF YOUR assistance, SO IT does no longer struggle through once you do not TIP! The server (and in person-friendly words the server) receives shafted once you do not tip. In Texas, eating places are in person-friendly words required to pay servers $2.13/hr, so if I waited on you for an hour and also you probably did not tip me, I truly did not receives a fee for operating that hour. If the Kitchen tousled your nutrients, ask a manager to both restoration it or get rid of it from the table AND your invoice. The server isn't even allowed in the back of the line, so if the nutrients comes out incorrect or lower than passable, the server has no administration over that - except to insure your order receives rung in wisely contained in the first position. even if he receives indignant once you deliver it back or no longer, that prepare dinner nonetheless receives paid no remember how badly he screws up. He might want to care a lot less what you tip with the aid of the undeniable fact that money would not flow to him besides. Now, if the server is neglecting to carry refills, failing to periodically verify to ascertain in case you want something, spilling beverages on you, etc., try to be mad on the server. yet such issues as nutrients cooked to the incorrect temperature, nutrients taking longer to set up dinner than envisioned, the eating position determining of a particular merchandise, or waiting an hour to be seated at a table once you've been advised it could be 40 min., are aspects the server has no administration over, and could no longer be penalized for.

In the 16 years that I have worked in the industry, I have never seen a chef or a line cook spit in someones food. I did catch a server lick someones straw and put it in a drink to take to a guest ( I fired her on the spot) So I would not worry about it. Most Chefs take great pride in their work and would never spit in your food...but watch your server, they are the vengeful ones.

It depends on how nice you were about it IMHO. The more attitude you have and take it out on your server, the more attitude he/she will give the cook about it...and who knows what *might* happen to your precious steak. WHOOPS!
I can gaurantee you that if you are on your best behavior and use your manners when dealing with others, they will have a much better attitude in dealing with you. Maybe not politcally correct, but better safe than sorry, especially when it comes to my food. If my customers are nice to me, then I pay extra attention to what happens to their food. If not then I will give it to the cook and walk away...and not come back until it's ready, and I can only assume they "played nice" with your recook.

Only if you were a ***** about it and the waiter/waitress said that to them, but on the other hand if you suspected it and reported it there would be DNA in your food and that would kill the chef's job so it doesn't happen as often as you think.

As a former restaurant manager, I can tell you this DOES happen. I've fired employees for doing thing...spit, floor grunge, grill grease. It happens all the time. I even knew a bartender once who used Visene in drinks to get rid of non-tippers. (It gives them the runs)
It happens everywhere, all the time.

Most Definately. My husband is a chef and I cringe at some of the horror stories he has seen and told about. What really scares me is what about the ones he hasen't told about.
