LOL
Your NOT supposed to say that, Europe is mostly socialist, US is neocon, and the US rather would go on a war against Europe than joining the union.
The Union is focussed more on eastern connections anyways. The Asian market with Japan and China, not to mention Russia, so thats where still is a lot of potential.
The US already has seen its best times and is going downhill, you would only find countries like Mexico willing to unite with the US, not even Canada would want that, why would Europe want it?

That would be a terrible move. Does the U.S. really need a fourth level of government? More government equates into more problems, less freedom and higher taxes.
The socialist programs in Europe are crumbling, even if the citizens are paying higher taxes than ever for them. It may be worth while checking out the online headlines at the BBC or Deutsche Welle from time to time, to see just how many problems European countries are riddled with.
The leaders in the E.U. are just as corrupt as American ones, difference being only in degree.
Every year, billions of dollars are wasted and unaccounted for. Scandal is also known to occur regularly. The E.U. Commission is not democratically elected. There is no accountability. E.U. agricultural policies hurt the third world. These just touch on a few problems.
Most problems are created or made worse by intervening governments. An even larger, centralized state is not the answer.
Good question!

yeah! America is in Europe and we already aren't in our own union called the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!!! HOLY CRAP, IT'S THE SAME THING EXCEPT FOR: our government has a mandating federal government that we all pay taxes to.
Better Education: that can be fixed without joining the EU and they have better education because their teachers aren't lazy and actually teach the children. It's the people, not the government. Better healthcare: this one i will give you, but we can fix healthcare w/o joining a stupid union across the atlantic. Better Social Security: we can do this by investing in private funds that aren't mandated by the government and then used for whatever they want to use it for. PS: EU votes for their leaders too....it's a group of DEMOCRACIES!..joining it does not mean that we will suddenly get better leaders...first: they have to start running, then we have to vote for them...
aka your arguement makes no sense at all.
PS: to the guy above me:
If by suppressing racism you mean hiding it from the public eye so it's still there and still strong, people just don't see it as much
and by fundamental crazy christians you mean people that are willing to show morals and a spine by sticking up for what they believe in, then yes good job Europe.

Some kind of free trade between EU and may be an NAU would be smart. But the European Union is a European union in Europe
But there is tons of anti-americanism in Europe. You can't have a union where one half absolutely hates the other half. I think Europe needs to get off of its pride and stop with the "OMG USA IS A FASCIST COUTNRY" and propaganda. Like how many europeans think US and Bush are imperielist. I especially dont' understand that one since Iraq won't become the 51st state.
If the EU was smart they would get in closer ties with the US (i heard they have been doing that). May be Free trade or something like that.

Didn't we fight a war at some point to get away from those guys? Kind of an "Independance" war or something.
Lord no we don't need to join those guys. Their social programs have lead to stagnation of their economies, health care is not that hot (most of their social elite and leaders come here for health care), we can fix education on our own with out their help, and our world leaders shoot people so my world leader can beat up their world leader.
America can stay the way it is. We don't need to join the ones over the pond.

North America was discovered by people wanting to break away from Europe and seek a new world hundreds of years ago.Settlers came from many countries throughout Europe and Asia, onward to Africa, India, and Australia, seeking a new place to call home. As we are all either direct or indirectly descendants of those cultures, it really makes no sense to go back to our roots so to speak. To do that, all we need to do is literally move back there rather then trying to force others to do the same.
I realize of course that your question is a "what if?" situation but really what could be gained? The leaders that you ask for rather then the ones we have, are not within the confines of Europe, but rather right here among us.
The main thing is, that those who really are better suited for those higher positions usually go unnoticed due to their lack of a financial backing.
For some strange reason, we're led to believe that the right person for the job has a mass of financial wealth behind him when in essence, those individuals have never experienced the pain of a hungry stomach so to speak.
The key to having a successful nation is not by who runs it, as much as it is who believes in it. If we as a modern society could all think for one moment what would make our country the greatest place to live, we'd realize that to do so would mean investing in our future rather then trying to blow up the present.

This objective can be reached without joying The EU, this depends on the leader that are elected. They have to be very smart and, this is the most important thing, they have to think on the problems of all the people, not only theirs.
Also in Europe there are politics that think only on their business and That don't do the right thing

Americans don't want socialism, we like capitalism. Also, the United States isn't in Europe, if you didn't know. Why would a super power want to join a nothing of a union? The EU would love it...but there's really nothing to gain for the US. We'd just be losing our freedoms.

Not for the Europeans. Even now they are not only watching what's going on in the Iraq fiasco ( boy, I'll bet there happy they passed that up when Bush invited them aboard) but they are closely watching the domestic affairs going on and to name just a couple as changing the constitution for flag burning, gay marriage, English only and only oil from Alaska can be burned in federal vehicles. I know that your question was tongue in cheek but have no fears-they won't be invited. They gotta make way for Turkey

Maybe all the above could be true, but who told you that Europeans would want the US to join them anyway? gosh I cant even imagine that, I would move in India or somethin if the US joined us...We have enough troubles already, and we managed to suppress racism and fundamental crazy Christians...we dont want these things back...
