My Space tends to be geared for the younger set (well truthfully about all of them are . .. )
Craigslist I peruse, but it seems to be the place for hook-ups only and if you are African-American, all the AA women seem to only be looking for non-AA people (I have no problem with that, but on the site at times it seems to be an obsession).
Bookofmatches I have not been to in sometime
Plentyoffish is not a bad site, though for some reason, not too many New Yorkers on there.
Probably the best thing to do in New York is to go "low-tech" and just get out there! You do not have to cruise the bars or anything, but just hit bookstores, supermarkets, retail stores, etc,. I hear that they are the happening spots nowadays anyway! (I need to do that myself -- lol)
